Sheep Legions. 12.28.09

SO MANY SHEEP! As you might guess, I still have not acquired a white-board for the time that I am home. Therefore, I am showing you this picture that a lovely and talented NatGeo photographer has captured: So. Many. Sheep. ... Love the sheep <3

Also, if I published a "The Daily Sheep: On Your Coffee Table to Entertain Guests" the book, would you buy it? I'm still working on the title...

Vacation Sheep. December.2009.

Hey anyone who looks at this! You may have noticed the lack of sheep! :( Saaaddd!

There are a few reasons for that.

1. I am home. My whiteboard is at school.
2. I now have considerably less free time than I do at college (I know, how wrong is that?? My vacations are where I actually work.)
3. It's vacation-- I have NO sheep inspiration. My bad.

However, I did get colored markers for CMas, so when I resume sheeping, they will be twice as delightful! Also, I may resume drawing the sheep if my workload gets lessened at all...

PS? MERRY CHRISTMAS from Sally Sparrow Blogs and all the sheep!

Little Bo Sheep 12.18.09

Little Bo Sheep 12.18.09. No description, no poem, bad artwork... hey! What did you expect? It's the first day of break and I'm a college student.

(PS: Laterly added note: Little Bo Sheep, you may exclaim? But that is paradoxical!!! "Little Bo Sheep has lost her Sheep?? That's insanity!" But I say nay... because I have that power. Nay it is not paradoxical at all. Nay. In fact.... it makes perfect sense... in THE SHEEP ZONNNNE......)

(PPS: Yea. I went there.)

It's easy...

Awkward Sheep. 12.13.09

("Baaaah"d lighting... I apologize.)

This is Awkward Sheep, Taken out of Context. This sheep was inspired by everyone who has ever had that moment where you say these words:
"Uhh... this really isn't what you think it is."

And then your douchebag friend that you still love today adds:
"It's EXACTLY what it looks like. Exactly."

:) I love those moments...

Guy Fawkes Sheep 12.11.09

Guy Fakwes Sheep. Inspired by and dedicated to Guy Fawkes. This is absolutely my favorite sheep as of now.

Guy Fawkes (13 April 1570 – 31 January 1606), also known as Guido Fawkes, the name he adopted while fighting for the Spanish in the Low Countries, belonged to a group of Catholic restorationists from England who planned the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. Their aim was to displace Protestant rule by blowing up the Houses of Parliament while King James I and the entire Protestant, and even most of the Catholic, aristocracy and nobility were inside. The conspirators saw this as a necessary reaction to the systematic discrimination against English Catholics.

The Gunpowder Plot was led by Robert Catesby, but Fawkes was put in charge of its execution. He was arrested a few hours before the planned explosion, during a search of the cellars underneath Parliament in the early hours of 5 November prompted by the receipt of an anonymous warning letter. Sheepy Miss Muffet

Inspired by and dedicated to Amy & Casey, both of whom I love.

"Sheepy Miss Muffet sat down on her tuffet,
Eating her grains and hay.
When along came a spider that sat down beside her
Until she told it to get the **** off."

Diving Sheep 12.8.09

Inspired by and dedicated to Alex Humble... because she really, really wanted a swimming sheep. So, to compromise, I drew a sheep hurtling down toward a tiny circus pool.

Special Edition Protest Sheep #1 12.07.09

This sheep has donned a cow's clothing to protest against the awful practices of factory farming! Yes, it brings you plenty of meat at dirt cheap prices, but at what REAL cost?

"Factory farming is the practice of raising livestock in confinement at high stocking density, where a farm operates as a factory — a practice typical in industrial farming by agribusinesses.

Confinement at high stocking density is one part of a systematic effort to produce the highest output at the lowest cost by relying on economies of scale, modern machinery, biotechnology, and global trade. Confinement at high stocking density requires antibiotics and pesticides to mitigate the spread of disease and pestilence exacerbated by these crowded living conditions. In addition, antibiotics are used to stimulate livestock growth by killing intestinal bacteria. There are differences in the way factory farming techniques are practiced around the world. There is a continuing debate over the benefits and risks of factory farming. The issues include the efficiency of food production; animal welfare; whether it is essential for feeding the growing global human population; the environmental impact and the health risks." (Wikipedia)

I'm not telling you to change the way you live your life, but I would like you to be aware of the issues of factory farming.

Rasta Sheep 12.07.09

Inspired by and dedicated to Miranda Bona! (Love that lady)

ONE LOVE <3 ONE SHEEP

Pimp Sheep 12.06.09

Pimp Sheep. Inspired by and dedicated to Emily Kopf.

Stacks in the air!

Robert de Niro Sheep 12.05.09

The most bad-ass sheep of all time, de Niro Sheep was created after British Sheep went to greener pastures, to protect future Sheep from the harmful Drunkies.

British Sheep 12.03.09

The most distinguished sheep by far. Unfortunately, British Sheep was ruthlessly attacked one night, and had to be euthanized before his time. He was buried with honors.

Hide-and-Go-Sheep 12.02.09

This cute little guy is Hide-and-Go-Sheep. He's one of about a dozen that were sketched during a particularly boring 75 minutes of Librarian class and then later copied onto The Whiteboard. (Also, one of my personal favorites. I love the wagging tail!)

Counting Sheep 11.30.09

These are the counting sheep. They were inspired by a smaller-scale drawing I made on a thought-bubble whiteboard to hang over my bed. This is one of the most detailed Daily Sheep drawings.

The Original (and Re-Touched Original) Sheep

This is the ORIGINAL sheep! The one that started it all.

And the re-touched version of the original. It's just a little easier on the eyes. This sheep actually still lives on my door.
