Famous Paintings the Way They Were Intended: The Son of Sheep. 06.27.11

Apple. Face. Hat. Ocean and wall. It's so artistic, but WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?! Nobody knows. Except... the flock. This particular sheep really enjoys apples, so he is about to partake in a delicious snack. He's having a terrible wool day, hence the apple in front of his face & the hat. He's slightly embarrassed (though I don't know why--sheep's hot as shit), which is also why he is dressed to the nines in a lovely suit. Boom. Explained.

5th in the series, Famous Paintings the Way They Were Intended to Be: The Son of Sheep is inspired by and dedicated to Rene Magritte, the Belgian surrealist painter..

And, be honest now... when I said "Belgian", the FIRST thing you thought of was waffles, wasn't it? Yea. You know that it was.

Famous Paintings the Way They Were Intended: A Sheep in Need 06.10.11

As you may have noticed... but probably haven't, because, really, who checks on the sheep every day besides me? You do? Oh. Well gee, I'm absolutely blushing. Anyway, the flock has been quiet of late, because their faithful shepherd is a grown-up now and silly things like work and social happenings keep getting in the way of drawing funny pictures of sheep. So you'll be bombarded with a few new sheepies right now. The flock is IN, baby!!

4th in the series, "A Sheep in Need" is inspired by and dedicated to C.M. Coolidge, the painter of awkward dog portraits. Animals doing people things? That's preposterous...

BOLD Sheep. 06.09.11

Boldly going where no sheep has gone before............

Where is that, you ask? I have no idea. The flock is on the lookout, but Bold Sheep appears to have taken his own path.

Sheep At Work. 06.09.11

The Sheep are hard at work! And so is the shepherd. I promise.... no, really! I made a spreadsheet, and I checked our online ticket sales, and updated a Facebook event. And the sheep watched.

And, sheep? WHERE did you get the funds to buy Beats by Dre headphones? Have you been selling your body behind my back? RUDE. Yet proud.

Cubicle Sheep. 06.07.11

Post-It Sheep #3. You may remember how I mentioned a few posts ago that I work in a small, windowless box. It's true. Hence the birth of Cubicle Sheep, and his fears that the walls around him are, in fact, getting smaller and smaller, the box around him shrinking quickly into nothing more than a jack-in-the-box.

It is stifling. Luckily for me, the flock provides excellent company.

Stick 'Em Up, Sheep! 06.06.11

"Ba ba, black sheep, have you any wool?"
"Yes sir, yes sir, three bags full!"
"THEN GIMMEE ALL THE *#%@* WOOL AND NOBODY GETS HURT!"

I found a letter opener in my desk. And then StickEmUpSheep was born. Poor little sheepy was so scared he lost his head and ran. Luckily, sheep can run significantly faster than letter openers, so he escaped unscathed.

Subtle Sheep. 06.06.11

This is the first of a new line of Post-It-Sheep. Having recently started my job as a summer intern, I find new inspiration for the flock almost every day..... because I work in a small, windowless box. But I have my own nametag! WIN.

This was a very subtle sheep so people wouldn't think that I wasn't doing work. Although, I wasn't doing work. The flock scolded me heavily for this. I sure learned my lesson. Reallly.

Rice Krispie Sheep. 04.25.11

This little sheep is groundbreaking in SO many ways. The first sheep to be 3-dimensional, for one. The first sheep to be in a form other than drawn/sketched/painted. AND, the first sheep to be EDIBLE (he didn't enjoy the fact that he was edible, but we did.) This sheep is made of rice krispie treat material (aka cereal and marshmallows) with icing accents.

This is literally something that you would find in a 4-star restaurant. I expect it to start showing up on menus any day now.

Why did I make a sheep out of Rice Krispies, you ask? Well, let me explain: April was my Month of Challenges. I went a week without coffee, I let myself be a little bit more spontaneous, and, when my bff Kelsey and I attended a RK party on a friend's floor, she challenged me to create a sheep out of only the materials I was given. And I did. Whattup.

This sheep is so cute I just want to eat him up!! However, I am a non-sheep-atarian...... so I gave it to Mitchell. And he ate it.

Mustache-eep 03.22.11

I left the flock untended for such a long time, that THIS happened! Look at that 'stache! Look at that monstrous caterpillar rocking the sheep's little snout! Does it make him less likely to be sheared when I need a new wool sweater? Probably not. Does it make him look more awesome? Definitely yes.

Mustache Sheep is inspired by and dedicated to THIS GUY:

Evan Fjeld is a graduating senior (2011) at the University of Vermont and one of the best players ballin' at UVM, and he's basically a badass in every way. He grew this beastly mustache way back in November to raise money for cancer research, but when the team rallied behind the 'stache and started #winning all day, he kept the fine and manly trophy proudly displayed on his upper lip for months.

Also, who doesn't love a glorious mustache?

A Very Potter Sheep 07.26.10

(My mobile uploading wasn't working yesterday, so the dates are different... AHcrisis.)

Draco Malfoy: "Now you're just being cute. I CAN'T GO TO PIGFARTS. IT'S ON MAAARS, YOU NEED A ROCKETSHIP. Do you have a rocketship, Potter? I bet you do. You know, not all of us inherited enough money to buy out NASA when our parents died; Look at this. Rocketship Potter. Starkid Potter. Moonshoes Potter. TRAVERSING THE GALAXY FOR INTERGALATIC TRAVELS TO PIGFARTS."

So... there's this supermegafoxyawesomehot thing called A Very Potter Musical--and it is fantastic. And not just normal fantastic. Like, imagine Christopher Eccleston saying "Fantastic!" in that way that he does, and it is THAT fantastic. Seriously.

Then, as if THAT amount of awesome didn't make me absolutely kick the bag, they made a SEQUEL, which was JUST as amazing and fantastic and supermegafoxyawesomehot.

"That's Lavender Brown! RACIST SISTER!"

Unmotivated Sheep 07.16.10

Could also be called "Wishful Thinking Sheep".

Here's a personal fact about me: I LOVE to sleep. Love it. It is my favorite activity. For instance, I had a day off of ALL work on Wednesday, and I slept straight through from about midnight to 1:30 in the afternoon without waking up once in between. It was awesome.

However, that happens very rarely, as I typically work every morning, and often find myself wrangled into activities on weekends. So, this sheep was an artistic representation of my selfish want to sleep in my comfy bed for long periods of time.

*Sigh* Ah, well. What is the imagination for if not to dream?

Scratch Paper Sheep 07.08.10

SCRATCH PAPER SHEEP! a.k.a. what happens when Becca works 3 jobs at a time, and only has the time/energy/materials to create... well, this.

I had a Mon-Fri job working pony camp, teaching small children the correct way to not fall off a horse, from 8:30-12, then a half hour drive home to change clothes and go to ANOTHER Mon-Fri job from 1-5, THEN traveled to my housesitting assignment. Oh. My. God.

But here's a life lesson, kids. It's true that money doesn't bring happiness. I made BANK that week, but it was a miserable frickin week. Like fo' rizz. No fun. So there's the lesson: it doesn't matter how much money you make, if you can't get enjoyment out of life, those silly paper bills aren't worth shit...

American Gosheep 06.28.10

Famous Paintings the Way They Were Intended: American Sheep

This one doesn't have as great of a play-on-sheep-words as some of my other, but this was suggested by my aunt and I thought it might be fun to draw :)

This is what is was based off of:

You would not BELIEVE how hard it is to transmit those facial expressions to sheep. (Very hard.)

Pirate Sheep 06.26.10

What would a four-legged, woolly animal use to sail the seven seas?

A PIRATE SHEEEEEEEP, ARRRRRG!

Get it? Pirate sheep? Like ship, only with an extended (i) vowel? Like arg me mateeeeeeey, I'm on a pyrit sheeeeeeeeep!

WOW! That joke fell flatter than a pancake on an ironing board...

This was inspired by a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon, and I (like so many) was taken in by the charming appeal of the pirates... their rougish attitudes, their sexy hair-dos, the way that they would risk... well... not all that much to save each other.

And then I thought to myself, "Wait... these 'bad guys' who are trying to kill all pirates... aren't they doing so because the pirates just ROBBED AND KILLED THEIR FAMILIES?"

Breaking and entering and manslaughter charges aside, pirates in real life aren't really anything like in the movie... except they do have guns and they're probably pretty dirty. But I'm betting its not the romantic Carribean life that the box office makes it out to be...

It's settled, then... JOHNNY DEPP! Go be a sexy pirate somewhere out on the ocean.

Sheepen Colbert 06.25.10

...Yes. This is Stephen Colbert as a highly patriotic, fashionable, eyebrow-wiggling sheep with great hair.

And yes... that IS a WRISTSTRONG bracelet on his cannon (which in sheep language is his wrist. Look at that--you learned something!)

If you REALLY need to look up info on Stephen Colbert because you don't know who he is, first go to Google. Then go to a doctor, because you have a severe case of loseritis, and you'll need to take some Awesomacillin.

If you need to look up info on Stephen Colbert because you like to know things about him, great! ... But remember, personal education stops at least 100 yards away from celebrities' houses. Any closer and you might have to google in the back of a police car.

SHEEPA WORLD CUP! 06.23.10

The nice thing about the World Cup is that you don't necessarily have to love soccer... it's more about loving your country and showing pride in your nationality than actually liking the sport. Even though soccer is pretty damn cool.

Today's match of US v Algeria? USA pulls out one of the most amazing goals of this year's World Cup by breaking the 0-0 tie that had lasted all game in the last remaining minutes. It. Was. AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Office Sheep 06.15.10

[Insert theme from "The Office", with the drums+accordion. Or whatever that instrument is.]

So, I have a real job now... in, like, an office. Therefore... OFFICE SHEEP. Totally professional.

See? He's wearing glasses, and there's papers everywhere, and he even has a calculator. So professional.

(It's actually drawn in my dad's office, because I had taken it over for the day. Love you Dad!)

Scuba Sheep 06.09.10

Undah da seeeeeea, Undah da seeeeea! We got da speerit, YOU got tah heer it, undah da seeeeeea!

Yea, so I can't pull off a Jamaican accent even on the internet. So what?

Imagine this guy singing it:
Or, for a laugh, this guy....

For optimal laughage, find a buddy who's good at PhotoShop and make a Justabastian Bieber hybrid.
